Althea’s Mommy Makeover Recap and Giveaway!

Althea Mommy MakeoverMeet Althea, the lovely winner of our Mommy Makeover contest!! This lucky mama won a whole new look: amazing cut and color by Michael Tschantz, owner of the Michael Tschantz Salon, and make-up by the fabulous Gina Melchiorri, Independent Mary Kay Consultant! To top it off, she and her husband were able to celebrate her new look with dinner (CHILD-FREE) at Kyodai Japanese Grill!

HAIR

By Michael Tschantz, Michael Tschantz Salon

When I first saw Althea’s hair, it was long with a soft wave and short eyebrow- length bangs. We discussed the options of change for her including a dramatic color change. Althea didn’t want her hair to be shorter than her shoulders, and I agreed with her that shoulder length would be the best for her facial shape.

Using the existing bang length I designed a medium- length swing bob with long hidden layers and a simple, but geometric, eyebrow bang. Althea’s dramatic makeover change was a new color; however, we had a small challenge to overcome. She came to us with an existing box color on her hair, which kept me from a simple color change.  I decided to highlight her hair first to break up some of the over- the-counter color that was present using bleach. Once the bleach-foiled highlights reached my desired lift, we washed and dried her hair before re-applying a new tone to the entire head using a cool-based burgundy. The result was an overall rich burgundy tone with intense burgundy highlights that complimented her complexion and brought out her eyes.

Althea’s new look still gives her the option to wear it wavy, straight or back in a high or low pony, perfect for the mother on the go.

My product choices for Althea’s look were by Unite Hair Products: Unite Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner, Unite 7 Seconds Leave-in Conditioner, and Unite Luxury Oil, all found exclusively at Michael Tschantz Salon.

ALTHEA

SAMSUNGMy mommy makeover experience was so wonderful!  I really enjoyed my time with Michael Tschantz! I relied on his expertise for deciding color and he was spot on. Everywhere I went people exclaimed about my hair. It seemed people couldn’t stop ooohing and aaahing about the beautiful job he did. Gina Melchiorri was awesome as well!  I enjoy makeup but had gotten in a routine of the same thing every day. Gina showed me a few simple ways to make my looks “pop” in just a minute or two extra. She was so generous and I am in love with the Mary Kay Lash Love mascara.  It is so amazing that I have been asked twice if my eyelashes are real. Finishing the day with a date night at Kyodai Japanese Grill was perfect.  My hubby enjoyed his steak and my sushi was absolutely delicious!  Thank you so much ICMB for such a special day that made this mommy feel beautiful and pampered!

  1. We moved here a year ago and I am too scared to find a new hair stylist. I also had my fourth boy 7 weeks ago. I am ready for a makeover and feel like a woman again.
