Make some special recipe gorp (trail mix) for an exciting scavenger hunt of the activity centers (Jolly Roger Pirate Shop, Mission to Mars, Fairyland, Peter Rabbit’s. Garden, and Mexico). Iowa Renaissance Festival & Gathering O’Celts 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. @ the Middle Amana Community Park. Celebration of olde world European culture featuring five stages of entertainment, horseback jousting, food court, merchants bazaar and beer garden and more. May 23-25.
Ride, Walk, Play CR 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Come join us for a day of outdoor fun on the Linn County Trail. Bike, walk, run or ride, there will be a number of fun activities on this two mile loop through downtown Cedar Rapids.
Dragons Love Tacos Storytime 11:00 a.m.-Noon. Head over to Coralridge Mall Barnes and Noble for story time and activities. Featuring Dragons Love Tacos, this scrumptious New York Times bestseller has a whole lot of kick! Dragons love all kinds of tacos and salsa, but watch out for the spicy salsa.
Sunday, May 24th
Plum Grove Opening 1:00-5:00 p.m. Visit Plum Grove Historic Home, built by Iowa’s first Territorial Governor, Robert Lucas and his wife, Friendly in 1844. The Plum Grove tour explores Lucas’ life on the Iowa Frontier. On the grounds, visitors can view exhibits about ongoing archaeological excavations as well as walk through two heritage gardens featuring 1850’s plant varieties.
