Saturday, August 1st
Lucky Duck Swim 9-11 a.m. Nervous about taking your kiddo outdoors to swim or the large crowd? Well lucky duck swim is an excellent chance for you and your little one(s) to go swimming. From 9-11 a.m. the North Liberty Rec Center offers lucky duck swim. Cost is just $1 per child. This is for children 5 and under and adequate supervision is necessary.
The Big Latch On 9:30-11:30 a.m. Head over to College Green Park in Iowa City for the annual Big Latch On. The Global Big Latch On is an annual event created to promote breastfeeding, by raising awareness of community knowledge and support. The Big Latch On is also a challenge to beat the prior year’s records and last year there were 14,173 nursing/pumping moms that attended! Let’s help break that record! There will be door prizes, refreshments and family activities. Please attend by 10 a.m. for registration. The “latch on” is at 10:30 sharp! For more information check out http://biglatchon.org.
Michael’s Kids Club Rain Stick 10 a.m.-Noon. Each week drop in with your child to do a fun and different craft at Michael’s. Cost is $2 per child.

Corridor Parent Expo at The Hotel at the Kirkwood Center 11:30 a.m.-6 :00 p.m. This expo is designed to educate and equip parents with the tools and knowledge needed to raise happy healthy children through one on one visits with local professionals as well as seminars and workshops. This event is FREE and designed for all parents to be or parents who have children in college.
Sunday Fun Day with Iowa State University Insect Zoo 2-4 p.m. The Insect Zoo in Iowa State University’s Departments of Entomology is an outreach program developed to foster an appreciation of insects found in Iowa and throughout the world. Participants can view and interact with live insects and other arthropods. Event is taking place at the Iowa City Library.
