{Re-Cap} Colony Pumpkin Patch Playdate

FullSizeRender (2)Fall is in the air, and we are so excited to share this season with all of you mamas and your little ones at our fall-themed events around the corridor!  Many of you joined us for a beautiful morning at Wilson’s Orchard last month, and the day was JUST as beautiful this past week as we met up at Colony Pumpkin Patch in North Liberty!

Many of the moms had never been to the Colony patch, and we can guarantee that they will be coming back after this playdate!  In fact, we have seen on your Instagram pages that many of you have already returned with your families!  We are so grateful to have so many awesome family-friendly activities in our community!

FullSizeRender (4)The “Little Pumpkin Playground” was a huge hit with all of our little ones, as they bounced in the bounce house and climbed on the spider web jungle gym.  They also LOVED the barrel train rides!

Next up, picking out some pumpkins of course!  In addition to a great selection of pumpkins, both sizes and colors, this area of the patch made for a great backdrop for all of those fall-themed photo opps that we mamas were hoping for.  And if they couldn’t find the perfect pumpkin out there in the baskets, they could grab a wagon and go pick one from the patch themselves! How fun!

FullSizeRender (3)Last, but most certainly not least, the corn box!!  Who would have thought that a giant box of corn could entertain kids for hours on end? Seriously, we saw many sad faces when the moms started scooping their kids out of there!  Definitely a hit!

If you and your family have not visited Colony Pumpkin Patch this year yet, make a plan to do so ASAP.  It truly is fun for the whole family, the kids can run around until they are ready for a good long nap, and you can get those great family pics for Fall!  Special thanks to the Colony staff for opening up just for our group, and for graciously hosting our playdate.  For more information on the patch and their upcoming events, click here to visit their website.  And be sure to tell them that the Iowa City Moms Blog sent you!

So, now that we’ve crossed Apple Orchard and Pumpkin Patch off of our collective fall bucket list, let’s get the Halloween festivities started!  Join us on Friday, October 30th for our 2nd annual Spooktacular Halloween Bash, with indoor trick or treating, games and prizes, and best of all, an opportunity for your kiddos to wear their costumes WITHOUT all of the sweatshirts and jackets covering them up!  Click here for more info and to get your tickets NOW!
