Pizza and Pencils: A Community Event

Here at the Iowa City Moms Blog, one of our biggest goals has always been, and always will be, to give back to our community, to help build it up, and to connect the moms who live here.  In this spirit, we are thrilled to announce our upcoming “Pizza & Pencils” event at Wetherby Park.

This event will be twofold; on one hand, it will be an opportunity for families to come together for a FREE pizza dinner.  We will have one slice of pizza and one drink for everyone who comes, kids and adults alike, until it runs out!  On the other hand, we also want to take this opportunity to help the kids feel a little more prepared for the upcoming school year. For that reason, we will be sending every child home with a bag full of school supplies!

ICMB Pizza (4)We would absolutely LOVE your help in our efforts to bring this event to the kids, and families, who most need it in our community.  If you (or your place of business) are interested in sponsoring or contributing to this event, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] for more details.

To donate: If you are willing to pick up a few extra things during your back-to-school shopping this year, please stop by either Iowa Gym Nest location (545 Olympic Ct. in Iowa City and 2550 Holiday Rd. in Coralville) with your supplies . We will be announcing more drop-off locations soon.  Stay tuned to our Facebook and Instagram pages for info on a drop-off location near you!

As always, we could not do ANY of the things we do without our amazing team of contributing mamas and YOU, our wonderfully supportive readers. We appreciate anything and everything you do to help us reach our goals! THANK YOU!!

A born-and-raised Iowan, Sara received both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees (in Spanish Literature) from the University of Iowa. She's still teaching Spanish wherever and whenever she can, but her true passion is owning Iowa City Moms and building this community alongside her amazing team.
