{Re-Cap} 3rd Annual Halloween Bash

We’ve said it before, we will say it again…the Halloween Bash is one of our FAVORITE events of the year! We love seeing your little ones in their costumes, all dressed up and ready to do some indoor trick-or-treating.  For those of us who grew up in the Midwest, the idea of trick-or-treating without wind/rain/sleet/snow is pretty amazing, isn’t it?

This year, we were thrilled to host the event at the National Dance Academy in Coralville.  As always, the staff at NDA was more than welcoming, and we arrived to see that they, too, were in costume! Their space was absolutely perfect for this event, and it was so fun to have an extra room set up for some freestyle dancing and entertainment from the NDA teachers.  If you are looking for a place to take your little ones for dance, check them out!

Huge shout out to our title sponsor for this event, Order Up!  If you aren’t using the services of Order Up in Iowa City, you are MISSING OUT.  For all of those times you were sitting at home hungry, wishing that your favorite downtown restaurants delivered to your doorstep, Order Up to the rescue!  Call them up, tell them where you want your dinner from, and they will bring it right to you, even if said restaurant doesn’t do deliveries of their own!

Our guests had so much fun at the Order Up booth at the Halloween Bash.  One of the very favorite activities of the evening: face painting!  We also loved their GIANT buckets of candy for the trick-or-treaters, and the adorable fanny packs that they were handing out. Can’t wait to use ours!

As always, we can’t have a trick-or-treat event without tables full of candy.  And games, too! Big thank-yous to all of the following trick-or-treat sponsors:

Congruent Life Chiropractic:  In addition to candy and fun facts about chiropractic, Congruent Life had quite the popular activity at their booth: “the zombie walk”!  Kids (and their parents) tried their hardest to walk a straight line while blindfolded, but they were shocked to see that they didn’t end up quite where they started!  Curious as to what the zombie walk is all about, or wondering what chiropractic can do for you and your family? Check out Congruent Life today!

img_4070Enrichment Therapies:  We always love seeing the Enrichment Therapies staff at our events!  Did you know that they have programs for kids of pretty much ALL ages? From feeding/swallowing issues in babies/toddlers, to speech/language/articulation and reading in older kids, the super-friendly staff of Enrichment Therapies can help you to give your children the very best help that they can get.  If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out their website and all of the programs they have to offer!

dsc_0294La Montessori Nurtury:  Interested in the Montessori philosophy of teaching and learning? Why not start from birth?  La Montessori Nurtury in North Liberty offers programs for infants and toddlers, from ages 6 weeks to 3 1/2 years.  We love how they say “the classroom is the first community”.  To visit the nurtury and chat with their staff about the programs they have to offer, please visit their website or give them a call today (319) 665-2565.

dsc_0290UI Children’s Hospital Safety Store: Perhaps one of the most important things we can do for our kids?  Learn more about safety! The Safety Store is a plethora of information on keeping your kids safe, from newborn to teenagers.  There are so many things to learn!  They also have a wide range of safety products that can often be hard to find at other stores/locations.  For more information on the Safety Store, click here.  And thanks to their staff, our kiddos went home with glow sticks after the bash! So fun!

dsc_0284-2National Dance Academy:  Again, huge thanks to NDA for hosting us, for dressing up in costume with the kiddos, for dancing with them, for handing out candy, and for sharing your space for the evening!

UICCU:  Speaking of candy, big shout out to University of Iowa Community Credit Union for helping us purchase the candy for the indoor trick-or-treating at the event!  UICCU has always been a huge support of all things ICMB, and we are so grateful to have them in our community!

{photos}  Shout out to ICMB contributor Nikki, of Bravely You Images, for taking the photos at this event. She captured some great moments, and we hope you enjoy both the photos in this post and in the album on our Facebook page as well!

{YOU!!}  What would this event be without all of those ADORABLE babies and kiddos in their costumes?! Thank you so much for bringing your families each year to join us at our Halloween Bash. We hope you enjoyed the games, the snacks, the trick-or-treating, and an evening with the people you love most!  Happy Halloween everyone!
