{Re-Cap} Costco Mom Hour

I think it’s safe to say it:  Iowa City moms LOVE Costco!!  We were thrilled to find out that our Coralville store had been chosen to participate in the 2nd annual Costco Mom Hour event with City Moms Blog Network sister sites across the country.  In the end, we were at 98 warehouses nationwide, with lines and lines of moms waiting to get in!

Speaking of lines, ours was long and winding through the indoor parking lot.  We were so happy to see all of your smiling faces so early in the morning, and all of the kids did GREAT waiting in line.  We’d like to think that was due in part to the candy and stickers that we were passing out to them!  Those first 100 moms who showed up early to wait were rewarded with an awesome swag bag from Costco, filled with fun samples and Kirkland brand products for the whole family.  We sure had fun unpacking ours when we got home, and we hope you did, too!

{breakfast & coffee}

This year we were treated to an amazing breakfast spread, complete with not only delicious breakfast foods and fresh fruit, but also Costco’s famous sheet cake! What’s better than cake for breakfast?!  And coffee, of course.  Lots of coffee.

{membership specials}

Special thanks to Costco for offering some AMAZING membership specials for our guests this year.  New members received a $20 Costco cash card, and an additional $20 Costco cash card if they upgraded to the Executive Membership!  Current members who referred those new members received a $10 cash card as well!  We hope that you all enjoyed these extra perks, and thank you to all of the new members who signed on as a result of this event!

{moms morning out}

Perhaps the best part about this event is knowing that for one hour (props to Costco for opening up early!), this store is going to be filled with other moms, with shopping carts full of toddlers and babies in car seats, who know exactly what we are going through.  Who know how much work it us to wrangle two or three (or more) kids into the minivan to get there, or how much work it is to get them to stay in the cart while you shop, or who know how it’s literally impossible to leave the store without stopping for a hot dog or a frozen yogurt (thank goodness they are so cheap!).  We loved spending the morning with all of you, and we hope you loved it as much as we did!  Here’s hoping that Costco invites us again next year, because we are IN!
