Is there anything more glorious than summertime in Iowa City?! From our world-renowned festivals and farmers’ markets, to our bustling evenings of live music in the Ped Mall, there is a limitless supply of fun-in-the-sun for folks of all ages.

We want your summer to be as easy and breezy as a walk in the sunshine, so we’ve compiled as much information as we could to help you plan out your Iowa City summer! Get your kids signed up for a Summer Reading Program at your local library, try out a new ice cream shop, find out the hours for your favorite swimming pool, fill up your calendar with family-friendly events, and so much more!

Rain or shine, there’s something here for everyone. We’ve made it easy for you to kick back and enjoy our fabulous city to the fullest. Happy Summer!

We at Iowa City Moms Blog take delight in serving our community and bringing people together. To that end, we planned some fun, free playdates to encourage you to connect with other moms and kids, and enjoy some of our favorite local parks while you’re at it. Lianna
Lianna is a homesteading mama of three: a sparkly seven-year-old daughter, a joyful five-year-old boy, and a confident three-year-old boy. After graduating from the University of Iowa’s college of education, she started Wondergarten Early Enrichment Home, a multi-age, play-based early childhood program. A self-proclaimed Queen Dabbler, she has a long list of hobbies (from gardening and canning to sewing and painting), and doesn’t mind being only mediocre at all of them. She lives with her husband, mother, three kiddos, dog, cat, rabbits, dwarf goats, and chickens on an acreage in the country. The Cornally family spends their time talking about education, learning how to grow and preserve their own food, and romping around in their woods.
