About a month ago I gave you lots and lots of suggestions for Mother’s Day gifts. And although I put out the request, none of the males in my life have provided me with a similar list for Father’s Day. Since it doesn’t look like the list of ideas is headed my way anytime soon, I’m going to try to help out my follow mamas with a gift idea for Father’s Day. (I know, I know, I just said A. Gift. Idea . . . as in one.) But, just stay with me! Its a good one! I think the man (men?) in your life will enjoy it!
For your Father’s Day gift this year, I’m suggesting you taking the man in your life on what I’ve named the Highway 1 Microbrewery Tour!
(The name needs a little work, but I bet the person you’re treating to the tour won’t mind the clunky name.)
Did you know that on the 40 mile stretch of Highway 1 between Kalona and Solon there are 3 microbreweries? Well, there are! Kalona Brewing Company (Kalona, IA), Backpocket Brewing (Coralville, IA), and Big Grove Brewery (Solon, IA).
They each have their own speciality, and in my extensive field research I have found them to all have great menu items (and in some cases long waits, so call/plan ahead)! I took my husband on the tour for his birthday in March, but I’m seriously thinking about recycling the gift for Father’s Day too!

The rest is pretty self-explanatory . . . just follow the map. And of course, you’re the driver for the night!
