For those of you who are attending our  sold out Spooktacular Halloween Bash, we look forward to seeing you there! Here are some other events going on as well on Friday!

Halloween Parade and Carnival, 6:15-8:00 p.m. @ the Robert A. Lee Rec Center in Iowa City.  Dress in your favorite costume and head downtown to the Ped Mall for a little Halloween Parade! The Parade will start at the fountain at 6:15 p.m. The parade will then head to the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center for games, activities, treats, and more!

Creepy Campus Crawl, 6:30-8:30 p.m. @ MacBride Hall on the UI Campus. Be transported into your favorite magical realms for a night of marvelous discovery at the University of Iowa Museum of Natural History!  Take an herbology class at Hogwarts and test your archery skills with the elves of Middle Earth.  Step through the wardrobe into Narnia, brave a winter storm with Elsa and Anna in Arendelle, or become a Viking hero with Hiccup and Toothless on the Isle of Berk.  Join us at this year’s Creepy Campus Crawl for a thrilling adventure full of make-believe, magic, and learning.

Haunted Happenings, 6:30-8:00 p.m. @ the North Liberty Community Center. Tunnel, mazes, carnival games and fun! Come in costume and have a frightful time. Activities, snacks, drinks and candy supplied by NL Optimist Club & NLRC. Ages: 9 & under. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. Fee: $5 per participant. Pay at the door!

Saturday, October 25th

Cedar Rapids Kids Fest, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Downtown CR YMCA. We are excited to announce the first ever Cedar Rapids Kids Fest, a family friendly day for kids of all ages to learn and enjoy! Kids can engage in a variety of arts & crafts projects, participate in sporting activities, exciting learning opportunities, and most importantly, show off their Halloween costumes in the costume contest! Every child will receive a goody bag from Mercy Medical Center. Lindale Dental Care will be giving away a $100 Toys R’ Us gift card every hour! Tickets will be $5 and only available at the door on the day of the event. Kids 17 & under are free. You can get $1 off the ticket price by bringing a non-perishable food item donation for HACAP. (If you buy two adult tickets, bring two items to get $1 off each ticket).

Trick or Treat Weekend, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. @ Wilson’s Orchard.  Wear your Halloween costume out to the orchard and receive a prize. Lots of apples and pumpkins still to be picked! Take a trailer ride out or a leisurely walk. Either way, you’ll definitely need some donuts or turnovers to fuel up for the day. We have lots of bakery treats to choose from and hot mulled cider! We also have fresh pressed apple cider for sale in gallons and half gallons.

Kaitlyn Swaim
Kaitlyn is the owner of Cedar Rapids Moms Blog and is an Iowa girl who has been married to her husband, Joshua, since 2007! She’s a busy work-at-home mama to their 5 children: 3 girls and 2 boys! A true Hawkeye, she graduated from the University of Iowa with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, something that comes in handy on a daily basis while trying to raise 5 kids! Her favorite things to do include spending time with her family, cheering on the Hawkeyes, reading a good book, shopping (of course!), and checking out all the activities the Corridor has to offer!
