Weekend Wednesday: June 20th-21st

It is hard to believe we are nearing towards the end of June already.  Here are my top 5 family friendly events that are taking place this weekend around the corridor.

Weekend Wednesday

Saturday, June 20th

Free Language Screening at the North Liberty Public Library from 10:00-3:00 p.m.  Hearing and vision are so important in your child’s language skills.  The screening is for children 3-9 and will take approximately 15-20 minutes.  Results are immediate and experts from the University of Iowa’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders will be on hand to answer any questions about your child’s language skills.  Children participating in the screening will get to choose a free prize.   For more information please check out their facebook page or contact Dr. Katie Gordon at [email protected]

Sunday, June 21st

The Addams Family @ 2:00 p.m.  The Addams Family features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Presented by City Circle Acting Company of Coralville. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before: keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.  This production is rated PG for mild profanity and sexual innuendo.  There will be a special kids matinee performance Friday, June 19 at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are general admission, and camps and school groups are encouraged to attend. Tickets for the general public are $15 for adults and $5 for students/children. Please call 319.248.9372 for group rates.

Enjoy your weekend!
