Saturday, August 15th

Seize the Carp with TAKO 8:30am-4pm.  Events happening all day, starting at the Iowa River Landing Wet Land Area.  Boats on Parade, Bike Tour, Fish talks, picnic in the park (food vendors available), and much much more!  Trust me, you do not want to miss this event.  Check them out on  Facebook and look for more details of the scheduled events

Kids Day at Kinnick 9:30am.  Prior to the action on the field, activities will be held in the Krause Family Plaza, which opens to the public at 9:30 am. Hawkeye Fans are invited to visit the Elite Chevy Dealers Kids Zone for games, face painting, and free t-shirts for kids, and to meet Herky. The Iowa mascot will be available for photos from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Families can also learn more about joining the Junior Hawk Club, presented by Cheetos and Frito Lay. Autographs will be done at 11:15am and scrimmage will start at 11:45am.

Collins Community Credit Union Free Kids Safety Day 11-2pm. Enjoy free face painting, ice cream, lemonade, balloon animals and games for the kids.  Also, the North Liberty Police Department will be conducting child safety seat checks, fingerprinting and they’ll have a crash test stimulator; and the North Liberty Fire Department will be there with a fire truck for the kids to tour.  We hope to see you there! Event is taking place at 1655 Jordan Street North Liberty.

Peach Weekend at Wilson’s Apple Orchard 10am-6pm.  Freshly baked peach crisp and frozen peach pies are available all weekend in addition to fresh peaches and our other baked goods, like apple turnovers and apple cider donuts. Cool off with an apple cider slushy as you wander around the orchard or take a trailer ride to pick apples!

Michael’s Kids Club–Backpack Dengler 10-12pm.  They craft, you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. $2 per child, supplies included.

Sunday, August 16th

Sunday Fun Day at the Iowa City Public Library 2-4pm. Do you have any clothing items that you would like to spruce up or modify before school starts next week? Be sure to bring them with you today as we teach you how to tie-dye with permanent markers!  Ideas for dyeing include, t-shirts, jeans, shoes, backpacks and any cloth item that would be fun with a little more color.  Fun activities for families to enjoy together.
