{Re-Cap} 4th Annual Egg Hunt!

Iowa City Moms Blog celebrated the Easter season this year with our annual SOLD OUT Egg Hunt, which took place at the U of I Field House in Iowa City.  We were so happy to enjoy the season of bunnies and eggs and all things pastel-colored with almost 300 kids and their parents!  A HUGE thank you is in order for the lovely ladies of the Tri Delta sorority from the University of Iowa. From Easter bunny costumes, to face-painting, to distributing thousands of eggs across the giant gym floor, thank you ALL for your help in making this event a success year after year after year!

Location, Location, Location!

We absolutely LOVED hosting this event at the Field House again this year!  What a great space!  In addition to PLENTY of room for our giant egg grab, there is also enough space for the kids to run off some energy while they wait! And, of course, for all of the awesome sponsor booths! Many of us were talking about memories from our college days at the Field House, so it was fun to experience the space with our families!  For more information on all of the great programs that the Field House has to offer for families and little ones, check out their website here.

Our Sponsors

As always, what would an egg hunt be without the eggs? GIANT thanks goes out to all of the sponsors who brought eggs filled with goodies, as well as some super fun activities for the kids to participate in.  Thanks to the following businesses in our community, the kids were able to enjoy each and every stop on the hunt!

Enrichment Therapy & Learning Center

Another returning favorite, for sure!  The sensory table was a definite hit with the little ones, and the staff from Enrichment Therapy & Learning Center were awesome at joining them in playtime! Great news: if you didn’t get enough time to chat with them about all of the amazing services they have to offer, you will be glad to know that one of their therapists will be joining our expert panel at our upcoming Moms Morning Out event (Get details on that HERE)!  You won’t want to miss it! (In the meantime, you can visit the Enrichment Therapies website by clicking here.)

First Steps Learning Center

First Steps Learning Center (located at 200 Holiday Road in Coralville) will be opening their doors THIS SUMMER as a licensed learning center for ages infant to preschool, with the added bonus of an INCREDIBLE Summer Camp available for grades K-6! First Steps will also be offering Before and After school programs as well, so be sure to check them out!  Our guests had a BLAST playing their Easter Egg toss game, and winning an egg to take home, too!

UI Safety Store

Not only did the Safety Store have a super fun game at the Egg Hunt, but the prize was a MEMORY GAME to take home!  The kids were SO excited!! If you have not visited the Safety Store, put it on your calendar today.  It is a one-of-a-kind place, open to everyone, which offers low-cost child safety products.  Their inventory also includes adaptable safety products designed specifically for children with special health care and educational needs, including bicycle helmets, child passenger safety seats, in-home safety products, and medical alert bracelets just to name a few.

Montessori School of Iowa City

The Montessori School of Iowa City provides a private Montessori education for students ages 3-12. They also have Before School and After School child care available.  Additionally, they recently announced the opening of a Pre-Primary classroom, which welcomes children 2 to 3 years of age. The Montessori School definitely had a popular booth at the Egg Hunt this year.  The kids enjoyed doing some super fun GIANT easter-themed stencils! If you are interested in learning more about the Montessori School of Iowa City, visit their website or their Facebook page (or both!).

Tri Delts

More thanks goes to the ladies of the Tri Delta sorority at the University of Iowa.  You may have seen them at the coloring table, the face-painting table, running around with giant tubs of eggs for the egg grab, or even hanging out with the Easter Bunny.  No matter where you saw them, I’m sure they had a smile on their face as they entertained your little ones, and for that we are so extremely grateful! We love working with them every year and are so proud to partner with them for this annual egg hunt!!

The Pink Umbrella Bakery

Hopefully no one left the event without grabbing a cookie (or two!) from the Pink Umbrella Bakery. We are always so happy to have them at our events, with their springtime-colored frosting on the soft, yummy sugar cookies! A perfect treat!

ICMB Contributor Team

A huge shout-out goes out to the lovely ladies of our Iowa City Moms Blog team, who in addition to providing amazing content on our blog, also volunteer to help at all of our large events in the community. From greeting you with a smile at the welcome table, to set-up and clean-up, these ladies are a HUGE part of what we do at ICMB, and we couldn’t do it without them!  Many of our team members were also walking around taking photos of the event, for which we are so grateful!  You can check out more of the event photos on our Facebook Page.  Thanks, ladies!

Thank YOU!

Last, but certainly not least, thank YOU for bringing your families out to spend the morning with us! We hope your kiddos enjoyed all of the activities, and we hope you all went home with baskets FULL of goodies.  Hopefully enough for the kids to have some and for mommy and daddy to snag some during naptime, too!  Happy Easter everyone! We hope to see you again next year!!
