If you haven’t heard, Iowa City Moms Blog turned 1 year this week!! To celebrate we’re throwing a slumber party-themed birthday bash!! What are some of your greatest memories of slumber parties as a kid? Games? Yummy food and snacks? Cake and ice cream? Fixing each other’s hair and make-up? Dance music? Well you are in luck, because we will have ALL of these (and more!) for you this Sunday, April 6th!!
Join Iowa City Moms Blog and South Slope Cooperative Communications for yummy pizza from Falbo’s, cupcakes from Molly’s Cupcakes, frozen yogurt from Yotopia, yoga sessions with the fabulous ladies of Sweet Feet Yoga, make-up tutorials by Mary Kay consultant Arica Ohloff and her team, hair tutorials by Groovy Katz salon, chair massages by Massage Heights, dance music, prizes, and a fantastic goody bag! Plus, your ticket will also include 1 glass of wine from Cedar Ridge Winery! (There will also be non-alcoholic options available). Dress code: yoga pants!

If you’ve never been to an event before, this is definitely the one to come to!! And if you’ve been to our previous Moms Night Outs at Kyodai Japanese Grill or Iron Hawk Restaurant (click links to read more about those events), we hope you’ll think this is the best one yet!! Whether you’re an experienced mom, a newbie, expecting, or aspiring to be a mom someday, this event is for you! Gather a bunch of girlfriends and come together, or come solo! All are welcome! You may even make some new friends!
In lieu of gifts we ask that you bring a donation for the Crisis Center of Johnson County. Some ideas of needed items: canned and dry goods, diapers, formula, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.
FAQ’s about the Birthday Bash
Do I need to bring extra cash?
You can certainly enjoy everything the night has to offer by simply buying a ticket! However, you may want to consider bringing along some extra cash for an additional glass of wine and for raffle tickets (credit cards will not be accepted). Raffle tickets will be sold at the event for 1 for $1, 6 for $5, and 15 for $10. You’re definitely going to want to pick up a few raffle tickets as the prizes are pretty awesome! Here are just a few items we will be raffling off at the event:
A pair of Freshly Picked Moccasins ($60 value)
A silver necklace from the Iowa Artisans Gallery
Haircut, shampoo, and conditioner from Groovy Katz salon ($100 value)
Birthday party package from Synergy Gymnastics ($200 value)
Is there parking available?
Yes, parking is available in the lot next to the community center!
Where is the event located?
The event is located at South Slope Community Center in North Liberty. The address is 980 Front Street, North Liberty, IA 52317.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely!! Our Moms Night Out events are the perfect event to attend solo. Where else can you be in a room full of other ladies who know what it’s like to be a mom? We do our best to make sure that even if you come alone, you don’t stay that way!! Give it a try…we promise you’ll have a fun night!
