Iowa Arts Festival, Fri-Sun in Downtown Iowa City
The Iowa Arts Festival is taking over downtown! The Festival takes place Friday-Sunday and is a very family-friendly event. You could easily spend all weekend downtown taking in all the fun (and we highly recommend that you do!). The Festival features an Art Fair and artist demonstrations, culinary row, beverage garden, tons of live entertainment, and a Children’s Day on Saturday. Free Fishing Weekend, Fri-Sun across Iowa
This weekend is the state of Iowa’s Free Fishing Weekend. This means you can fish in any of Iowa’s lakes, rivers, or streams without a fishing license. It’s a great time to take your kids out to fish! (If you know of a great place to fish, please leave a comment!)
Ridiculous Day, Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Washington
Head to Washington to celebrate their annual Ridiculous Day. The day features retail sales, food, contests, games, a parade, live music, and a talent show. Sounds like a ton of fun!
Sunday Fun Day, Sunday 2-4 at the Iowa City Public Library
Kick off camping season with a snack that’s photo-worthy–an edible campfire! (For those with food allergies, we will be using a variety of snack foods.)
Read to Corridor Therapy Dogs, Sunday 2-3:30 at the Cedar Rapids Downtown Library
Children read to trained, certified therapy dogs to improve reading skills and gain confidence. Call 398-5123 to reserve timeslots. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
